Katie and Micah are two twentysomethings whose relationship has just started to get pretty serious. But upon moving into a new home together in California, some of their differences start to surface in the most unexpected of ways. Katie has always held an interest in all things supernatural. She believes that dark spirits have been following her ever since she was a child, and some bizarre happenings during the first few nights in their San Diego house only confirm her suspicions. The ever-rational Micah, however, has decided to buy a video camera, on which he can record any suspicious events, having it set it up in their bedroom during the night...
Following the tradition of The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, this film is one of the greatest horror movies of the decade. Made with an estimated budget of just $15,000, Paranormal Activity is one of the most profitable films ever made, having earned $100 million in the U.S.A. alone, and it’s not difficult to see why. Writer-Director Oren Peli is a true maestro: his plotting creates a believable central relationship – perfected by unknown actors Sloat and Featherston – and an intriguing story. The ingenious minimalist camera work is cinematic innovation at its highest, and heightens all enjoyment and tension the film creates.
Prepare to enter a haunted house unlike any other, and see Paranormal Activity, if you dare...
