Made with an estimated budget of just $15,000, Paranormal Activity is one of the most profitable films ever made, having earned $100 million in the U.S.A. alone, and it’s not difficult to see why. Writer-Director Oren Peli is a true maestro: his plotting creates a believable central relationship – perfected by unknown actors Sloat and Featherston – and an intriguing story. The ingenious minimalist camera work is cinematic innovation at its highest, and heightens all enjoyment and tension the film creates.
